Doubling Down on the Blog

Heyooo,
Another week is in the tubes and we’re back again with another collection of misinformed writings that I believe to be truth accompanied by some silly cartoons.
As I talked about in last week’s issue, I used the month of January to build a daily writing habit.
I wrote 750 words a day for the entire month and watched my creative outputs flourish as a result.
But everything I wrote was fleeting.
I either write solely for myself or for Twitter. And once something goes on Twitter, God only knows what happens to it…
I was doing nothing to save the ideas I was writing about in an efficient or productive manor.
Worst of all, I’d overhyped the idea of what “publishing” was in my head. Something has to be primped, prodded, and set through a rigorous course of drafts and edits before it could be published to the internet for everyone to have access to forever.
So I’m doubling down on my blog.
I’m getting really excited about using each month of this year to try some new creative daily challenge. January was all about writing for myself…February is all about publishing.
I’m going to publish a small piece of writing everyday through the month of February and use this challenge to get myself used to the art of sharing.
I don’t have to come up with some well researched and technically sound essay in order to share my thoughts. I just want to share them.
So that’s what I’m going to do.
Here are links to my posts (accompanied by their silly cartoons) thus far…

This week on “I Made This…”
I put together a little concept illustration after a conversation with one of my friends
AND I got freelanced out to design a couple DIY beer labels.
A dream some may say….
As always all these cartoons are my own. If you or anyone you know has any design work (or just silly ideas you want materialized), reply to this email or contact me through Twitter. I would love to talk to you about making your dreamz (with a z) happen.
I’m not sure what this is. I DO know that “dreams with a Z” has been stuck in my head for weeks though. IDK something from my childhood maybe. If anyone is some type of sherlock and can let me know what this is from….let me know.
I hope that you all have a wonderful week!

Blogging's hard because we're so adjusted to an authority telling us what our writing should be. We focus too much on formatting (though it's important), and spend far too little time on the simple fact that the smallest pieces of writing that come from another human being have the power to make a big impact in someone else's life. Glad to see you blogging more, Ben. Enjoyed reading this and grats on the freelance gig!
